Icebreakers are particularly useful in events when interaction and participant engagement are vital. They assist in ensuring that every attendee is treated equally and completely engages attendees when you need them to take ownership of the event or meeting’s outcomes. Set the timer for about six minutes and instruct everyone to locate the shoe’s owner before engaging in a two-minute chat about something other than shoes.
The Marshmallow Contest
Divide your event attendees into four categories. Provide every group with 30 pasta sticks, 4 feet of tape, 4 feet of thread, and a single marshmallow. Request that they construct the highest freestanding edifice possible. Take a seat and wait to see what occurs.
The Photo Game
Allow everyone a few minutes to go through their phone images and choose a photo to present to the group. They can show the photo to their newfound acquaintances and discuss why they chose it. This will allow some personality to emerge.
Charades with Post-It Notes
Write some ordinary household objects (or whatever topic you like) on post-it notes, then give each individual one to place on their foreheads without glancing at it. People should be divided into groups and told to count how many traits they share in common. It helps to be patient and deliberate since the group with the most traits in common wins. To the remainder of the group, every group will share what they share in common. Ask everyone else to put their hands up if they have the same interest.
The Plate Matching Game
Turn a lunch into a fun networking opportunity if food is being served at an exhibition where you wish for attendees to mingle with one another. Tables should be labeled with numbers or colors, and the bases of plates should be labeled with the same. Check the base of people’s plates before they fill them. People would sit in random groupings rather than having to think of them on their own.
